Ultimate Entertainment's Gospel artist J.E. Jones releases his debut single, The Turnaround

Feb. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, GA.-  Gospel artist J.E. Jones, former music mogul and soon-to-be celebrated gospel artist is no stranger to the music industry.  An accomplished songwriter and producer for some of the gospel music industry’s hottest artists, J.E.Jones will release his debut single on February 16, 2010.  His album, titled Fire, will be released on June 22, 2010.

Although he is on a different journey now, Jones has not left his hip-hop roots behind.  In fact, he incorporates it in to his gospel music.  Jones impressive track record reads like a “Who’s Who in the Entertainment Industry”.  He had an impressive career at both Uptown Records and Def Jam Records, serving as VP of A&R and he worked with hip-hop and R&B superstars Sean “Puffy” Combs, Mary J. Blige, Heavy D and Montell Jordan.  Jones also served as the executive producer for Rush Hour and The Nutty Professor soundtracks.

Jones wrote and produced for Bishop Eddie L. Long, the first artist on his label, Ultimate Entertainment.  He has also written and produced for gospel greats Mary Mary, Tye Tribett, Dorinda Clark and Kierra “Kiki” Sheard.  With his project, he hopes to rejuvenate the gospel for the youth in a way that they can identify and be comfortable with.  “Kids need to know that being saved doesn’t mean they have to give up everything they love, like hip-hop. It’s not about telling them that they’re going to hell, or that they have to wear long skirts all the time. My background is in hip-hop, and I didn’t want to be the traditional gospel label,” says Jones.  “I come from the secular world, and I’m not excluding it in what I’m doing now.  Everyone looks for guidance at some point in their life, and whether they truly receive the guidance they’re given depends on how you present it.  I believe God is using me to work through the secular world,” he says.
