Explore the Dream-World of Midori Kakino in the Matrix of the Mind at Agora Gallery

Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature Japanese artist, Midori Kakino, in The Matrix of the Mind. The exhibition is scheduled to run from February 26, 2010 through March 19, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, March 04, 2010).

Feb. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Midori Kakino presents a fantastical world of opulence, mystery, and intrigue in her mesmerizing digital prints. Kakino entices the viewer with dramatic scenes rich with visual detail and sparks curiosity with their unusual and otherworldly nature. Depicting subjects that seem familiar yet decidedly foreign, Kakino engages the viewer in a visual game of sorts, constantly asking him to question and reassess his own assertions. Lost in imaginative thoughts, Kakino transports the viewer from the real world to her own artistic realm where shapes float, undulate, shimmer, and shift; a visual and even spiritual travel.  Kakino’s dream-world provides endless artistic inspiration, fueling her intense desire to explore the ideas of mystery and illusion.
Born in Japan to an artist father, Midori Kakino began her artistic education at age three.  Having studied the Renaissance and Baroque masters from an early age, Kakino incorporates their influence along with a host of others into her decidedly individualistic style.
