ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Some Alaska residents want to legalize their feline friends. Bengal and savannah cats are outlawed in Alaska, along with several other breeds of exotic animals.

Pet owners put several proposals before the Alaska Board of Game. They argue current laws prohibiting their pets are out of touch.

"These cats are different from regular cats, in that they are more like a dog," said Joann Odd of Save Alaska Cats. "They will fetch, they will respond to things, you can play with them. But they're beautiful -- they're just beautiful cats."

The board will hold meetings in Anchorage until Monday. There are over 50 proposals up for discussion.
