LYLES BRINGS HER “SAINT-SATIONAL SUPER BOWL MENU” TO FLORIDA JUST IN TIME FOR SUPER BOWL XLIV MIAMI, FL—After 42 years, the New Orleans Saints are finally heading to the Super Bowl! But the boys in Black and Gold aren’t the only ones heading to Miami this week. Pamela D. Lyles, author of the award-winning cookbook Da Cajn Critter: The Lifestyles, the Rules and Makin’ Groceries, will be in town to cheer on her home team to victory and to share her “Saint-sational Super Bowl Menu” with fans and foodies in Miami and the surrounding areas. Lyles’ “Saint-sational Menu” includes delectable dishes named for many of the team’s major players. The feast and frenzy begin with appealing appetizers such as Brees’ Famous Pesto Brie, Vilma’s Veggie Dip, and Black and Gold Bean Soup, and is followed by enticing entrees like Jabari’s Jambalaya. Sassy libations like Spicy Cajun Martinis top off this unique menu. The full menu, which can be found at www.dacajncritter.com, was recently featured on the ABC and NBC affiliates in New Orleans during the playoff games. All of these recipes and others can be found in her book, Da Cajn Critter. This easy-to-use cookbook contains 185 of Lyles’ original recipes, and a handful of others culled from family and friends. Da Cajn Critter is a “Certified Product of Louisiana” (an elite state designation) Lyles has been cooking and creating in the kitchen since she was a little girl. Growing up in New Orleans, she observed the magic in her own family’s kitchen. While the idea of self-publishing a cookbook had always been in the back of her head, it wasn’t until Hurricane Katrina that it came to fruition. Da Cajn Critter was born when the author was forced to relocate her family from New Orleans to Houston in the aftermath of the storm. Collecting and cooking the recipes found in this book became therapeutic for Lyles’ and was a way to help bring her family together during this difficult time. All of the recipes are easy to make in a household kitchen and help bring the flare of Louisiana flavor to any home. Lyles will be available for live interviews in Miami from Thursday, February 4 – Sunday, February 7,2010, and can be reached at 504-504-957- # # # Da Cajn Critter cookbook,2008 USA Book News award winner, is a “gumbo” of Cajun, Creole, old family, friends, and personal recipes from New Orleans, Louisiana.
