Save the World with Envitote

Jan. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- With a desire to make an eco-difference, two best friends set out on a journey that has led to the design of ENVITOTE and the beginning of a new company, Envicorp Products. Inspired at an Earth Day festival in Santa Monica, CA, Stephanie Collins began designing environmentally friendly products. Along with best friend of 20 years, Tana Collins, a plan was made to start a company that would provide products to the eco-conscious. Their hope is to reduce consumer waste and environmental pollution. While they are a company, part of their mission is that of advocacy, education, and service. The long-term objective is to start a non-profit foundation that will give grants to grassroots environmental programs.

“Our purpose is to change the way consumers feel about accepting plastic,” says Stephanie Collins. “I think educated individuals will make the right decision about the use of reusable totes.” Envicorp Products LLC has a page of their website called envifacts devoted to this purpose. “We hope this knowledge will be a catalyst for a positive mindset change in shopping habits,” states Tana Collins.  Envicorp estimates by carrying one ENVITOTE, five to six plastic bags are prevented from being used. The average use of a plastic bag is 12 minutes. The EPA reports that it then takes that plastic bag 500-1000 years to decompose. With only 1% of plastic bags being recycled, ENVITOTE can have an enormous impact.
