Dade Medical College to Award More Than $100K in Scholarships through FAPSC

Jan. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Miami, FL, January 29, 2010 — Dade Medical College, in partnership with the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges (FAPSC), is now accepting applications for the 2010 FAPSC Scholarship program. The deadline for students to submit their applications, essays and transcripts is March 12, 2010. More than $1 million worth of scholarships is available to Florida high school seniors and G.E.D. recipients to further their education.

Last year, FAPSC awarded scholarships worth more than $600,000 to students seeking to further their educational goals. More than $1 million worth of scholarships are available to Florida high school seniors and G.E.D. recipients for future education this year. FAPSC coordinates a program that offers more than 500 scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors and G.E.D. recipients pursuing postsecondary education at many Florida’s leading private career schools and colleges. These scholarships range in amounts from $1,000 to $5,000 to full tuition, for programs ranging from short-term diploma programs to four-year college degree programs.

“For more than 20 years, FAPSC has provided opportunities for high school graduates and G.E.D. recipients to further their education to attend many of Florida's outstanding career education institutions,” offers Wanda Taylor, FAPSC Deputy Director. “These scholarships would not be possible if it was not for the generosity of these FAPSC member schools. Our schools prepare students to meet Florida’s growing need for skilled professionals in the fields of education, computer technology, culinary arts, paralegal services, digital media and medicine.
