Vectir 2.2 Released - Now With Mobile Phone WiFi Remote Control Support

Vectir 2.2.0 is the first release to include Mobile Phone WiFi Remote Control. Users are now able to control their PC from a greater distance and with improved speed when compared to Bluetooth remote control.

Jan. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Vectir WiFi Remote Control support gives users greater flexibility when remotely controlling their PC. Instead of being limited to the Bluetooth range of 10 meters, users are now able to control their PC up to a distance of 45 meters indoors (802.11b or 802.11g).

Another advantage that WiFi Remote Control has over the existing Bluetooth solution is greater speed. EDR Bluetooth has a maximum data rate of 3Mbit/s whereas WiFi can provide data rates of 5Mbit/s for the 802.11b standard and 22Mbit/s for the 802.11g standard. Vectir users will benefit with faster remote profile download times and faster response time for the remote desktop feature.

If Vectir users wish to use the WiFi Remote Control feature, they must install PC version 2.2.0 or later and version 1.0.1 or later of the Mobile WiFi Remote Control Java software.
