“Songbird” Proves Marissa Is Still Soaring
Marissa Manzino’s persistence, creativity and passion for her music and acoustic guitar playing is paying off. Her third album "Songbird" will feature inspiring and uplifting ballads as well as Folky Pop guitar rhythms.
Her debut album “The Acoustic Experience” received 7 five-star (fantastic!) reviews from fans on CDBaby.com. She started playing guitar during her first semester of collage in 1999. Marissa's songwriting skills continue to pay off with her third album release since 2002. Marissa looks forward to sharing ‘Songbird’
Marissa graduated from Gorton High School in 1999. While this is a mundane accomplishment for many, it was significant for her. You see, Marissa is totally blind in both eyes and was the first student in New York State in over twenty-four years to earn the coveted Regents Diploma, without the benefit of eyesight. Other accomplishments include obtaining a Bachelor's degree from Marymount Women’s College at Fordham University in Tarrytown, N.Y. She also earned a MSW Master’s of Social Work from the Fordham Graduate School of Social Service.
"There would be no greater reward than to use my music as a tool of healing and to give back to society", says Marissa. She hopes to promote this album to radio and play some local gigs at locations like The Water Color Cafe in Larchmont, NY. Her album “Songbird”
