Some swords such as handmade japanese swords are still allowed for martial arts or display pieces for collectors.
     One of the reasons that all swords are no longer allowed in the UK is that the police do not carry guns. They have a much stricter stance on weapons than the United States. They do not believe that citizens should be able to arm themselves however they want.
