VisitBritain launches fresh campaign to promote major UK cities

Jan. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- It has been reported that VisitBritain, the national agency for tourism has teamed up with British Airways and easyjet to introduce a new campaign with a view to help attract tourists to the major cities of the United Kingdom.

It is understood that the new campaign of the agency would be following the footsteps of VisitBritain's See More Britain for Less campaign of 2009. As per the Cities Campaign, travellers will be advised to emphasise travel in ten major cities in the United Kingdom, which include London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Cardiff, Oxford, Newcastle-Gateshead, Manchester, Liverpool and Bristol.

According to VisitBritain's marketing director, Laurence Bresh, the campaign would strive to ensure that overseas visitors made the most of their trip, while the culture as well as the experiences the chosen cities had to offer were highlighted.

Bresh added that the highly favourable exchange rate prevailing in Britain currently meant that consumers would get more value in the New Year sales, not just in London, but also in other spots for shopping such as Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. He also said that whichever city the tourist was fortunate enough to enjoy, combined a fabulously rich combination of centuries of heritage and history, and rural landscapes with vibrant as well as dynamic atmospheres.

Thirteen countries witnessed the launch of VisitBritain campaign on January 25 with microsites of VisitBritain providing vital information on destination besides quirky offers for the visitors.
