Jan. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Kenneth James Taylor- Kenneth returns to The Warner Grand stage in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change over a year after his featured work in Urinetown The Musical with TRS in 2008. Kenneth has a long list of stage credits including Cats, The Odd Couple, Joseph, Guys and Dolls,Crazy For You, and Seussical, just to name a few.  Kenneth attended Minnesota State University Moorhead majoring in Theater before moving to Los Angeles in 2007.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is a musical comedy with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts. It is the second-longest running Off Broadway musical. The musical was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award as Outstanding Off-Broadway musical in 1997.

The musical premiered at the off-Broadway Westside Theatre, New York City, on August 1, 1996 and closed on July 27, 2008, after 5,003 performances. Directed by Joel Bishoff, the cast featured Jordan Leeds, Robert Roznowski, Jennifer Simard, and Melissa Weil.

First produced in the UK at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley, followed by a short season in the West End Comedy Theatre in 1999, it was revived in London at the Jermyn Street Theatre in 2005, presented by Popular Productions Ltd. A Mandarin Chinese version debuted in Beijing, China, on June 20, 2007, and it had been also reproduced by LANCreators, Taiwan's only group producing Broadway musicals, and performed, in English, at the Crown Theatre, Taipei, from November 3, 2007.

It has been translated into 13 languages including Hebrew, Spanish, Dutch, Hungarian, Czech, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Portuguese, German, Catalan, Finnish and Mandarin.

It has played sit-down productions in Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, London, Tel Aviv, Mexico City, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Budapest, Sydney, Prague, Seoul, Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Tokyo, Manila, Wiesbaden, Heidelberg and Christchurch.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. The play's tagline is "Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit."With few exceptions, the scenes stand independent of the others, but progress in a fashion designed to suggest an overall arc to relationships throughout the course of one's life. A first date, for example, comes before scenes dealing with marriage, and scenes dealing with marriage come before those dealing with child rearing. Despite the large number of characters, the show is typically done with a comparatively small cast: the original Off-Broadway production uses a cast of four.

The current licensed version available for production includes a new song in Act I, Scene The song "We Had It All" was added during the Off-Broadway run and was part of several tours of the show.  Kenneth Taylor and Melissa Villasenor essay this particular scene and song in The Relevant Stage Theatre Company's production.  Joining them in the cast are are Daina Bowler, Ray Buffer, and Kristin Towers Rowles. Jeanette-Louise Yaryan, piano and Adrian Wong, viola provide the instrumental music. Cast members play many roles involving countless costume and wig changes.

The Relevant Stage staged it successfully in 2009; it’s back for a second run in the Warner Grand Theatre through the last three weekends in February.  It’s a perfect date-night show or group outing, but also one for mature audiences.

Each scene opens a window into a relationship. The lighter first act focuses on the ups and downs dating, culminating in a wedding; the second act covers marriage from laughs to tears, from newlyweds to senior citizens. With Richard Taylor’s spirited direction there’s never a dull moment.

Audiences who attend on, Sunday – February 14, Valentine’s Day may schmooze with the cast and crew and attend a free post performance Champagne reception following the 2:30 PM Matinee or a free pre-performance Champagne reception prior to the 7PM showing at Parkhurst Gallery a few steps from the theatre.

Complete Dinner Theatre and Wine Lover Packages which combine a dinner or wine tasting with a show ticket are available for Off The Vine, Whale & Ale, 7th St. Chophouse, 6th St. Bistro and Ports O’ Call.
