Help Almost Home Canine Rescue and Sioux Falls SNIP win a $10,000 grant!
Almost Home and Sioux Falls SNIP ask the community to help them raise funds through this grant opportunity. Supporters can click to vote, for free, with no sign up.
Almost Home Canine Rescue of Madison, South Dakota hopes to win. They have pledged to use any winnings to support Sioux Falls SNIP. Sioux Falls SNIP is a joint effort with the South Dakota Coalition for Companion Animals to provide low income families in Sioux Falls financial assistance to spay or neuter their cat or dog.
"We will never adopt our way out of the pet overpopulation. The only way we will ever reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs is to spay and neuter our pets." Julie Lavin, Almost Home Canine Rescue President says.
The Animal Rescue Site Challenge is an easy way for the community to contribute to the program with out spending any money. All you have to do is click to help rescued animals, and then vote in The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge. Both of these actions are absolutely free! You can vote once a day, every day, from January 18th through April 18th, 2010. Every time you vote for Almost Home Canine Rescue, or tell a friend to vote, you are making a huge difference for pets in the Sioux Falls area.
Almost Home is a 501c3 non profit. They provide foster based pet adoption services through out south eastern South Dakota. Almost Home has provided spay / neuter assistance to the Madison area since 2005. In 2009 they partnered with the South Dakota Coalition for Companion Animals to bring their program to Sioux Falls. An community based group for pet owners, the SDCCA is excited to be a part of this effort to encourage quality health care.
"SNIP will be a progressive program for pet owners in the Sioux Falls community who want to do the responsible and healthy choice for their cat or dog, but may be financially struggling. Because of this, SNIP will aid in pet ownership retention which will, in the long run reduce the weight of intake at local animal shelters." Tanya Beckman, SDCCA Vice President says.
