American Basketball Academy Announces Revised AAU Tyrout Schedule For Boys And Girls

Newest AAU Program in Tri-State Philadelphia Region to hold annual tryouts for outstanding basketball student athletes.

Jan. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- WEST CHESTER, Pa., Jan. 25, 2010 — American Basketball Academy (ABA), the tri-state areas newest high-level instructional, showcase, AAU and NCAA certified basketball organization, today announced its upcoming tryout schedule for its AAU club, the ABA Cobras, for boys and girls ages nine through sixteen.  All tryouts will be held at West Chester Rustin High School, 1100 Shiloh Road in West Chester, Pa., The Church Farm School, 1001 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, Pa., The Westtown School, 975 Westtown Road, Westtown, Pa. or Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, 272 South Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, Pa.

The tryout schedule dates and times, by age group and gender are:
•   9/10U girls and boys — February 10 & 12, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. (Rustin)
•   11U girls — Feb. 15 & 19, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. (Church Farm School)
•   11U boys — Feb. 15 & 19, 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. (Church Farm School)
•   12/13U girls — Feb. 14 & 21, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. (Rustin)
•   12/13U boys — Feb. 13 & 14, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. (Westtown)
•   14U girls —  Feb. 13 & 14    2:00-4:00 p.m. (Westtown)
•   14U boys — Feb. 16 & 18,  7:30 – 9:00 p.m. (Rustin)
•   15U girls —  Feb. 16 & 18, 9:00 – 10:30 p.m. (Rustin)
•   15U boys —  Feb. 10 & 12, 9:00 – 10:30 p.m. (Rustin)
•   16U girls — Feb. 17 & 18,   7:00 – 8:30 p.m. (Barrack)
•   16U boys — Feb. 17 & 18, 8:30 – 10:00 p.m. (Barrack)    

For girls the age determination is based on a Jan. 1 birth date or after with certain grade level exceptions.  For boys the age determination is based on a Sept. 15 or after birth date with certain grade level exceptions.  Age calculators can be found by clicking Boys or Girls.

Players and their parents or guardians should plan on arriving at the gym for their scheduled tryout 15 minutes in advance for registration and information.  The fee for trying out is $50 and if a child is not selected for the team or decides to not play for the ABA Cobras, $25 will be refunded.  Payment is required at the time of the tryout in cash only.

The teams forming the ABA Cobras, and the first of its kind in the region to offer AAU competition for boys, will be led by highly experienced coaches throughout the region, with many having played at all levels of NCAA basketball.  Tryout evaluations will be conducted by both age appropriate coaches and independent experts.
