More than 97,000 foreclosure actions were filed in the tricounty South Florida region in 2009, a 29 percent increase compared to 76,000 filings in 2008 and a 193 percent increase over the 33,000 filings in 2007, according to the Condo Vultures® Foreclosure Database™. The Condo Vultures® seminar exploring foreclosure trends and related topics is scheduled for Feb. 16 at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel.
