PRLog -- September Song Musical Theatre proudly announces “Gypsy” as their Broadway musical production for September 2010. The book is written by Arthur Laurents and with a score by Julie Styne (music) and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics), it is a sure bet to light up our stage in September. Our version will be G rated and is definitely geared for the entire family. The cast will include children, teens and adults of varying ages. It is a fun production, full of hilarious comedy, rollicking music, and touching sentimentality. The lead female role of Rose has been successfully played by Ethel Merman, Angela Lansbury, Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, and Patti Lapone on Broadway. All have won Tonys for their renditions of the indomitable ultimate stage mother determined to make a star out of at least one of her children. Popular musical numbers include “Let Me Entertain You”, “Small World Isn’t It”, “Everything’
s Coming Up Roses”, “You’ll Never Get Away From Me”, “If Momma Was Married”, “Together Wherever We Go”, “You Gotta Have a Gimmick”, and “Mr. Goldstone”, a Sondheim lyrics standout.
Our June audition times and dates will soon be posted on our web site (www.september-
song.org). We welcome all auditioners, whether they have spent past summers with September Song or if this is their first experience on our stage. We are VERY excited about presenting this show and look forward to sharing in your talents and your enthusiasm. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT AUDITIONS!
