Dade Medical College to "Adopt" Homestead Senior High School

Dade Medical College has chosen Homestead Senior High School as the next addition to its charitable “Adopt-a-School” program. College officials will present a check for $5000 to school administrators on Monday, January 25th, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.

Jan. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Dade Medical College has chosen Homestead Senior High School as the next addition to its charitable “Adopt-a-School” program . College officials will present a check for $5000 to school administrators on Monday, January 25th at 1:30 p.m. during a small ceremony at the school located at 2351 SE 12th Avenue in Homestead. The donation will benefit the high school’s chronically underfunded drama program as well as its practical nursing program.

“Our hope with these types of donations has always been to help out the high schools near our campuses,” says Dade Medical College CEO Ernesto Perez. “This is just another effort by Dade Medical College to be good corporate citizens and active community partners.”

Dade Medical College’s Vice President of Community Relations and Former Florida State Representative Rene Garcia, new Corporate Director of Community Relations and Hialeah Councilwoman Vivian Casals-Muñoz, Corporate Director of Admissions Raul Mendez and Corporate Director of Marketing Michael Mut are expected to attend the ceremony. Local media are welcome as well.

Additionally, the School of Nursing offers a Practical Nursing diploma program from the Miami, Hialeah and Homestead campuses and a new Nursing Associate of Science degree program from the Miami and Hialeah campuses. Dade Medical College will soon be introducing a new Healthcare Management Associate of Science degree program.

Dade Medical College is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (Miami Campus) and is licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education. Dade Medical College has also been approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, the Florida Board of Massage and is a member of the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges.
