Haiti Earthquake Op-ed From 9-11 Novelist

Doug Shiloh reflects on a week of tragedy, from the sublime of football action to the truly horrific in Haiti. It might be a way of making sense.

Jan. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- ROCKFORD, Illinois - Novelist Doug Shiloh released an op-ed blog post at his official blog, regarding the Haitian earthquake disaster. It is available for free distribution and can be located at http://dlshiloh.blogspot.com/2010/01/haiti-earthquake-lessons-from-sidelines.html.

Shiloh is the author of "Pookoo", a satire on celebrity and sports. He is currently working on his second novel, "Waiting for the End."

"I was reticent on saying anything about what I had seen of coverage of the earthquake," Shiloh said. "We've seen the good and bad of the Internet - from hoax Twitter tweets to helping get needed information out to people. Again, disaster can bring out the best in people, which I think people should focus on, and the worst behavior."
