Ski For Haiti at King Pine This Weekend

Jan. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- East Madison, NH – King Pine Ski Area and its parent company Purity Spring Resort are encouraging skiers and riders to donate towards relief efforts in Haiti while at King Pine during the MLK Jr. holiday weekend. King Pine and Purity Spring will match 100% of donations (up to $2,000) made at the KP ticket desk this weekend.

The 7.0-magnitude earthquake, which hit Haiti on Tuesday, January 12, has left the country in major distress with many relief organizations stepping up over the past few days offering aid and supplies and has left many Americans wondering how they can help.

The Hoyt Family, owners and operators of Purity Spring Resort, will match and forward all proceeds to the Partners With Haiti organization through the Madison Baptist Church. Reverend Sean Dunker-Bendigo of the Madison Baptist Church is on the board of directors with the Rhode Island-based, 29-year-old non-profit organization. Bob Hoyt, Purity Spring Resort President and King Pine Ski Area General Manger, says, “So many people want to do something, but don’t know how or where to start. We are providing a place for people to make a monetary donation and we felt that it was the right thing to do by matching 100% of every dollar received.” Bob continued to point out that, “We chose to donate to Partners With Haiti because many locals are involved with this organization and 100% of our donated funds will go towards relief aid in Haiti, which we feel is how our customers want their donations to be distributed.”

King Pine will be accepting monetary donations Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-9pm and Monday 8:30am-4pm. Cash or checks made out to “Partners With Haiti” will be accepted. You do not need to purchase a lift ticket to donate to the organization.
