By: Boxing By Syd Vanderpool Kitchener, ON | January 14, 2010- Fans can get their New Year rolling with a world-class series of boxing matches on Saturday, January 16 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. As the first of six shows United Promotions is presenting for 2010, the “Undisputed” The January match-up marks only the second professional fight for Julius "Caesar" Bunda, who this past April successfully defended his Golden Gloves amateur title at the world renowned boxing tournament held this year in his hometown of Kitchener, Ontario. Promoter Syd Vanderpool, a former champion middleweight boxer himself, is thrilled that the region is becoming a hot-bed for boxing talent. "I'm excited to see this high calibre of pro boxing in our area, and I'm looking forward to bringing a big crew from our region to the January bouts in Mississauga. We're going to be loud and proud for our local boy!" With seven bouts on the card for the January 16 event, there are match-ups ranging from lightweight to heavyweight, making this an event for all types of fan. Other fighters who will be boxing at the event include Canadian Welterweight champion Victor Lupo and Heavyweight fighter Denton Daley, who has been training out of Kitchener's Boxing by Syd Vanderpool training centre and will be making his professional debut against London, Ontario's Irving Chestnut. The event kicks off at 8:00pm, and Waterloo Region fans interested in attending can reserve seats on a chartered bus heading to Mississauga for the fights. Get your tickets by calling 519-576-3813 or emailing info@boxingbysyd.com. Ticket prices for the event are $25 and $35, or $50 for VIP reserved seating. Admission for the bus is $20, departing at 5:30pm on Saturday, January 16 from the Boxing By Syd Vanderpool training centre at 1253 King St. East in Kitchener. End
