By: Jerry When Spin Spa Laundry opened in October 2009, North Pacific Beach California became the first community to have a laundromat where customers could get a free massage while waiting for their laundry to wash or dry. Tired moms, aching construction workers, students hunched over books who come to Spin Spa say they feel leaving better than when they first came in. Some just drop their laundry at the Fluff & Fold and get a free massage. With combined experience of over 40 years in the service and healing industries, Jerry and Rob created this new concept in Self Serve, Fluff & Fold Laundry Services. Spin Spa Laundry has the comfort of a living room and the feel of a spa. It is a high tech environment where customers can wash their clothes while relaxing in esthetic surroundings, or have someone do it for them! Licensed Massage Therapists are available several times/week and offer free 5 minute chair massages (with option to have more time for a paid supplement) to melt away stress while laundry is being cleaned. The Massage Therapist Schedule is posted on the Spin Spa Website. Clients can sit inside or out at comfortable café tables and chairs, enjoy watching flat screen TV’s that they can control, use the free WiFi, or enjoy the cappuccino/latte machine; and the laundry is first rate too. Spin Spa is located at 5010 Cass Street @ Loring in Pacific Beach, just south of La Jolla. The Self Serve is open 7 days/week 6:30 AM – 10 PM. Fluff & Fold is open M-F 8 AM – 6:30 PM, and Weekends 10 AM – 3:30 PM. Going to the a laundry now is more like a social event or a place to relax and de-stress. More people are becoming aware of the benefits to the environment because the high effiiciency machines save water and power.
