Jan. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C. - Ray Price Harley-Davidson®/Buell® High Performance Center, one of the most advanced shops in the U.S., has built the world’s fastest naturally aspirated drag racing motorcycle. The 1,000 HP bike, ridden by Joey Sternotti at the South Georgia Motorsports Park, Valdosta, GA, achieved a speed of 234.37 MPH in 6.144 elapsed time (ET) over a quarter mile track. (“Naturally aspirated” signifies an engine that does not utilize forced air technology to increase performance.)

“My team and riders continue to make me extremely proud with their ongoing string of racing and performance records,” said Ray Price, founder and owner of Ray Price Harley-Davidson/Buell and primary sponsor of the Ray Price Nitro Harley Race Team. “Our incredible performance during the 2009 racing season gives us a great sense of accomplishment, as well as great confidence going into the 2010 season.”

The new record shatters to past All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) Top Fuel Nitro Harley ET record run of 6.150 set in October 2008. The 234.37 MPH run shatters the previous American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Funny Bike MPH record of 232.35 held by Ray Price Racing, set in August 2009.

The team captured three first place finishes in six races during the 2009 season.
