Funds raised to support South River High School’s 31 sports teams

South River High School’s Sports Boosters will host the Seahawks Challenge Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auction Saturday, May 22, 2010. Proceeds will support the athletic programs at South River High School. Event is open to the public and is drawing parents, local business owners and community leaders together.

This year’s fundraising goal is $100,000. All proceeds from the event will support the Booster Club’s mission of providing uniforms and facility improvement for the school’s 31 athletic teams. The Booster Club ensures every team is provided with the uniforms and equipment necessary to play at a competitive level. The Club also raises funds to provide safe and adequate facilities for the school's athletes, visiting teams and spectators. South River is host to more than 2,200 teens from the Annapolis suburbs of Edgewater, Davidsonville, Riva, Mayo and Crofton, MD.

The tournament and dinner will be held at Renditions Golf Course in Davidsonville, MD. Each of Renditions’ eighteen holes is a replica of a hole from a golf course that has hosted one or more of golf’s four major championships: The Masters, The U.S. Open, The British Open and The PGA Championship, plus a hole from The Players Championship, golf’s "fifth major."

Participants will enjoy a full day of great golf, great food, drinks and networking, while raising funds to support teen sports.

Great Gifts and Prizes
All participating golfers will receive a Players Package filled with golf items and keepsakes.
The tournament will include several games and contests. Closest to the pin, long drive and putting contests during the event will offer special prizes. There will also be hole-in-one contests where the winner can receive a prize valued at up to $25,000.
Prizes will be awarded for the first through third place teams and a 50/50 raffle will be held.
