ULI Presents Meet the FDIC: Acquisition of Failed Real Estate Assets

Jan. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- ATLANTA – On January 14, ULI Atlanta, a district council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), will present a panel seminar “Meet the FDIC: Acquisition of Failed Real Estate Assets” at 7:30 a.m. on the 24th floor of the Sovereign building in Buckhead. Presented by Henry Lorber, Managing Director of Hays Financial Consulting and Principle of Realty Asset Management, the seminar will discuss topics including how to navigate the current governmental environment and how to develop a strategy to acquire bank real estate assets.

“This is an extremely timely topic,” said Jeff DuFresne, executive director of ULI Atlanta. “There are number of failed real estate assets throughout the metro-Atlanta area. Everyone on the panel is extremely knowledgeable on the topic and each panelist brings a unique insight and opinion to the seminar. I think everyone who attends the seminar will leave with a better understanding of failed real estate assets and how to acquire them.”

Lorber comes with a vast portfolio of knowledge and expertise. Having worked over 35 years in the industry, Lorber has successfully restructured or liquidated over 100 individual real estate projects, eight failed institutions, and $26MM in troubled assets. In addition, he has managed approximately 17,500 assets valued at over $6.5B and provided expert witness testimony for national law firms on behalf of their clients regarding real estate issues.

Panelists will include: Victor Robert, Resolutions and Closing Manager, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC); Ken Pearson, Corporate Asset Recovery and Restructuring, CB Richard Ellis; James Thompson, Director, Prescient Asset Management. Each panelist brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to the event.
