February 26 - March 21

Music by Andrew Lloyd Weber, Lyrics by Tim Rice

As the narrator sets the stage for the audience it is apparent that this traditional biblical parable is going to unfold in a very non-traditional manner. Based on the “coat of many colors” story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis, this light-hearted telling of Joseph and his magnificent coat of many colors is set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country and calypso to pop and rock n’ roll. In song we follow Joseph from the favor of his Father’s eye through servitude in Egypt and the ultimate showdown with the brothers who sold him out of jealousy and which he forgives in a heartfelt reconciliation. Through the clever artistry of Rice and Webber, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

The family-friendly storyline, universal themes, and catchy music have made Joseph…Dreamcoat a favorite among theatre enthusiasts and sure to become a favorite for anyone new to theatre. Production Director, Bruce Tinker remarked, “This amazing show has transcended its original story of fortitude and forgiveness.  The coat of many colors has become a metaphor for the rich tapestry that is so important to the strength found in the diversity of our modern culture.  With a cast of over 50 adults and children this show shares Joseph’s story faithfully but with a decidedly current vibe.”
