Jan. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Dry docked on October 14, 2009 the USS Missouri Battleship or “Mighty Mo” will be out of dry dock this week for a “soft” re-opening around January 15.  Three months and a 15.5 million dollar paint job later, the re-opening of Might Mo will allow Discover Hawaii Tours to re-launch the much anticipated World War II – From Start to End Tour.
While on the tour, guests experience what life is like onboard America’s last remaining battleship.  Discover Hawaii Tours specializes in providing professionally guided tours throughout the Hawaiian Islands, with many excursions to Pearl Harbor.  Tour 8, World War II From Start to End begins with a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial which rests above the sunken battleship that represents the beginning of WWII for America.  The tour ends with an extensive exploration of the USS Missouri which is where the Japanese signed the surrender documents ending WWII.
The new grand opening for the USS Missouri Battleship is scheduled for January 30, 2010 which is a day after the 66th anniversary of it’s launch from the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  The USS Missouri’s was the first time for a battleship to be dry docked at Pearl Harbor since World War II.
