Jan. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- APSI Opens New Training Center Downtown Charlotte, NC

APSI will unveil its new training center downtown Charlotte NC to accommodate growing demand for vocational training for unemployed, dislocated, under-employed, military veterans and young adults seeking to prepare themselves for the current and future demands of the job market.

The new training center will include the ability to provide weekend and evening courses for those who are currently working and do not have the ability to enroll in full-time day classes.  In line with Mayor Anthony Foxx's initiative to "strengthen and diversify the Charlotte Economy and Grow Jobs",  this new location will provide APSI and the Mike Minter Workforce Development Program the ability to offer non-technical training courses like Customer Service and Sales with computer stations for examinations to meet the administrative (call center) needs of companies transferring to the Charlotte area.   APSI executives have also committed to using this new center as a location to offer “NO COST” lectures, workshops and seminars in areas of training and employment.

“This additional facility gives APSI & the Mike Minter WDP the ability to reach more people in our community through more flexible training programs.  We will now be able to help those who are under-employed but desperately seeking continued education in high-demand markets with more evening classes on our schedule.  That is what this location offers this community and that is why we are excited to get started in 2010,” said APSI Sr. Vice President of Business Development Marvin Kelley.

This facility will offer the following classes in 2010:  Broadband Fiber Optics, Broadband Satellite, Broadband Networking, Customer Service & Sales along with additional Advanced Courses.  Each course offering will provide credentials in their respective field.  We will also host small group events and business meetings at the new training center.  There will be a private open-house ceremony on January 9th and the first class will begin January 11th, 2010.  Please check the APSI website for more scheduling and class information.
