MEL Secure Systems launches first all-in-one talkback solution for CCTV systems

Jan. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- MEL Secure Systems, the leading developer of surveillance and security solutions, has launched the market’s first all-in-one, talkback solution.  This new wireless system is quick and easy to install and will integrate with existing CCTV systems enabling control room operators to issue verbal warnings or challenge the behaviour of monitored subjects.  It will significantly enhance the functionality of monitored CCTV systems in a wide range of applications helping to reduce the incidence of anti-social behaviour, vandalism and break-ins.

MEL’s new all-in-one talkback solution can be wall or ceiling mounted and comprises a highly efficient compression driver horn speaker that is acoustically designed for maximum sound penetration in noisy environments.  It is mounted using robust metal brackets that enable the horn speaker to be angled for optimum effect.  The wireless receiver, amplifier and speaker transformer are housed in an IP65-rated, ruggedised metal casing.  It is supplied as a complete solution and can be specified with a variety of power outputs including 10W, 15W and 30W to meet the requirements of different applications.  

According to Peter Druzyc, Managing Director of MEL Secure Systems:  “Talkback functionality has already proved successful in town centres across the UK.  When used in combination with installed CCTV system, it provides an interactive capability that enables control room operators to select any specific area under observation and issue verbal warnings directly to monitored subjects at the press of a single button.  This will have an immediate impact on improving the safety and security of areas under observation.”

This new talking CCTV solution is the first plug and play, ready to install solution available in the UK and uses digital wireless transmission to achieve an effective working range of several kilometres.  It also provides an option to connect directly to DVR audio outputs for the automatic playback of pre-recorded messages when triggered.  This will enhance security and protection in areas that are not centrally monitored by a control room.
