New York City based hair extension artist Tanika Salmon (known to many as the Dream Weaver) is on the rise!

Tanika has only been active in the hair weaving industry for a few short years; however, she has already been featured on the Tyra Banks Show and was even asked by the producers of the show to style the hair of America’s Next Top Model contestants: Fatima Siad and Renee Always.

The stars are truly the limit for this Canadian raised hair extension artist. Tanika’s hair weaving technique is truly different from other hair extension artist, even the way she braids the hair is unique. It’s something that has never been seen before.

Ninety five percent of the new clients were internet driven and five percent were driven by word of mouth. When asked what she made of the statistics, Tanika explained:

It’s really not hard for me to believe the statistics for my company. My location is hidden. The only way you would be able to find me or locate me is by internet or by word-of-mouth. I don’t have any outside advertising so there are no signs telling you that I’m a beauty salon...and I like it like that.

I think I would do better with the word-of-mouth advertising if some of my clients would stop keeping me as their little secret (Tanika laughs).


Tanika is truly one of a kind - From her weaving, down to her personality. For so many of us African American women (such as myself) it’s truly hard to find a hair extension artist that can truly fulfill all of your needs and wants.
