Lakeside Pottery Ceramic School and Studio is now offering Keepsakes Clay Hand and Foot Imprints

Jan. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Lakeside Pottery is a geat place for your child's (baby or toddler) foot prints and hand prints keepsakes clay impressions that will be preserved forever. Pet imprints can be made also. The clay design can be any shape you choose.

OPTIONS:
- Only hands
- Only feet
- One foot and one hand
- In a square, round, heart shaped or any design you prefer or suggest
- Can add a cutout for a picture insertion in addtion to the foot and/or hand print
- Several glaze colors to choose from
- Any text, painting or carving you choose
- You could choose to paint / glaze yourself
- We can provide with a kit to take the clay impressions at home
- We are a "high fire stoneware" pottery studio which means that all items are extremely durable and will last for generations.

COST: $40 to $90 depending on size, complexity of design and glazes chosen

Brief business history: Since the Newfield Avenue Studio opened it's doors in Feb 26 2002, there have been over 4,000 enrollments to date for classes, workshops, summer camp, corporate team building activities, birthday party events, sculpting seminars, teacher development and training courses and consulting services for other studios and schools. Lakeside Pottery offers open studio, free pottery workshops to the public. Lakeside Pottery is affiliated with several organization in Southern Connecticut (Stamford Nature Center, Darien and Stamford Continuing Education) where they offer programs to their communities at our studio.

The Instructors

Morty Bachar is a proprietor of Lakeside Pottery. After leaving the corporate world , he pursued his passion for art and pottery and is now an accomplished ceramic artist and pottery teacher. His work is exhibited and sold in shows. He instructs beginner and advanced pottery students on the potters wheel, conducts corporate team building workshops, and is a consultant to schools, businesses and studios. Morty trains teachers and advises in studio design, equipment and material selection and use.

Patty Storms, proprietor of Lakeside Pottery, is a painter and ceramic artist. She began her love for pottery under the instruction of Ken Kantro, (Lovell Designs) in Portland, Maine. After graduating from Wesleyan University she worked at both Christie's and LIGHT Gallery in New York City in the field of 19th and 20th century photography. She teaches the potters wheel and handbuilding/sculpting in both children and adult classes. She manages open studio, conducts corporate team building workshops and birthday parties and trains teachers in ceramic techniques. Patty's work is sold in galleries and in exhibits.

We service all of Southern CT, Fairfield, Westchester and Rockland County and Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Greenwich, Westport, Cos Cob, Norwalk, Fairfield and Pound Ridge, NY.

Lakeside Pottery is a ceramic art educational resource for the community. We seek to inspire creativity, foster self-discovery, and nurture an appreciation for lifelong learning through our programs, special events and access to our studio and gallery.

Learn the Art of Pottery at our school and studio. Activities include group classes, private lessons, after school classes, and summer camp. Open Studio time can be purchased for independent work.
