Jan. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Applying Leadership to Project & Program Management is the focus for the upcoming Project Leadership Forum set for May 13-14 at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.

The 2010 forum focuses on how to increase projects’ ROI by using leadership practices to influence results and reduce failure rates. The forum will examine best practices and lessons learned from accomplished project managers through interactive sessions and actual project case studies.  Participants will work closely with leadership gurus to begin creating a personal action plan to develop the leadership competencies that will make them more effective project leaders.

The Project Leadership Forum will feature keynotes, case studies, and planning sessions with experts, making it ideal for project managers, executives, and program and portfolio managers from IT, construction, health care, consulting, manufacturing, government and other organizations using project management.

The University is a perfect site for the forum as it is home to the region’s only Master of Science degree program in IT Project Management (ITPM).  The 36-credit-hour degree program covers essential skills and topics including procurement and risk management, to systems integration and organizational leadership. Additionally, the curriculum has received Registered Education Provider (REP) status through the Project Management Institute (PMI®), providing preparation for the nationally recognized PMP certification.
