Sullivan Center for Breast Health Accredited by National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers

Dec. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- Sibley Memorial Hospital’s Sullivan Center for Breast Health has been granted a three-year, full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. The NAPBC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to the improvement of the quality of care and monitoring of outcomes of patients with diseases of the breast.

Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. The Sullivan Center’s achievement of NAPBC accreditation demonstrates a firm commitment to offer its patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease.

The Sullivan Center is a comprehensive breast health center that organizes multidisciplinary services into a fully integrated system of care. Breast imaging, breast cancer and breast reconstruction surgery, radiation oncology, physical therapy and other key teams collaborate closely to ensure the well-being of each patient. The Nurse Navigator, certified by the National Consortium of Breast Centers’ Certification Board of Perioperative Nursing (CBPN), is available to guide patients through what might be an unfamiliar and often anxiety-producing process.
