Capital City Shows Where Their Heart Is Through Pink Ribbon Button Campaign

Dec. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- The Cancer Services wig boutique received a $1,580 donation this week to help purchase wigs for women who are going through chemotherapy and mastectomy supplies for women affected by breast cancer all thanks to The Sharmooz.

During October, The Sharmooz launched a “Where the Heart is” Pink Ribbon Button Campaign. Buttons were placed at various retailers in our area and Cancer Services became the beneficiary of the proceeds from sales.

“We wanted the community to support women who have faced breast cancer,” Ann Tillage, owner of The Sharmooz, said. “Their small gesture of a $2.00 donation for a button is now going to help deliver much needed guidance during treatments and assist women with mastectomy materials, wigs, and other necessities.”

Thirty donation boxes were strategically placed at local clinics, office complexes, boutiques and salons in support of the program and to bring awareness to the community about breast cancer. Ann and Cancer Services would like to thank all of the retailers in our community who helped to support this endeavor.
