Back by Popular Demand Apple Holler Special Event: Let's Get All Shook Up

Dec. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Elvis Presley was born January 8, 1935, in Mississippi, and his musical talent and unique style of singing helped him rise from poverty to fame throughout the 1950s.  As his career progressed, he won a devoted audience of all ages and from all over the world, many of whom still treasure his recordings to this day.

Apple Holler's Red Barn Theatre is presenting this Special Event tribute to the King January 7-31, 2010.  The small cast honors Elvis' birthday by bringing him to life, singing his most beloved songs, including Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog, All Shook Up, and many more favorite hits.

To add to the flavor of this celebration, enjoy a Southern-themed meal. After a wine and cheese tasting, experience mouth-watering, fried dill pickles, Black-Eyed Pea Salad and The King's Corn Bread, with apple butter.  The main course will include down-home favorites such as:  Buttermilk Marinated, Deep-Fried Chicken; Love Me Tender Pork Loin with Apple Butter Bourbon Sauce; and Golden Cadillac Baked Macaroni and Cheese.  For dessert, enjoy Banana Cream Pie Drizzled with Peanut Butter Sauce as well as Elvis' Favorite Southern Pecan Pie.

"While this is not intended to be an Elvis impersonation," states Heather Clayton, Apple Holler's Entertainment Director, "our very talented, lead actor will skillfully perform many of Elvis' most popular songs, incorporating his vocal style and mannerisms.  This performance is sure to please Elvis fans of any age, with exciting music, engaging narrative and a delicious Southern-style meal."
