Dec. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- For a record label that started in May of 2009 Mint 400 Records was sure able to make a lot of noise this year. Starting with label founder Neil Sabatino's band Fairmont who's The Meadow at Dusk EP broke into the CMJ charts at number 184 and broke the top 100 to spot 83 on RIYL's unweighted radio charts (115 on their weighted chart). Fairmont as well saw their very first vinyl release this year. The second band to make a big impact was Jersey City's own Any Day Parade who's EP Where We Fall was named one of the 10 best albums of 2009 by NJ.com. Both bands as well enjoyed the spotlight at the Jersey City 4th street festival. Mint 400's first official band besides Fairmont was Nutley's Theodore Grimm who in their own right had a stellar year breaking onto NY radio's WRXP 101.9 along with Fairmont who both got repeated play on Rich Russo's Anything Anything show. As well 2009 saw a face from the New Jersey scenes past re-emerge, none other then Jesse Ian Dunn. Jesse had been a staple of NJ's indie scene first with his band Reconstructing Heather and later on his own as a solo artist. After a few years of hiatus Jesse has returned with an EP that will leave you breathless, his debut EP The Very Best Of Jesse Ian Dunn (the album title a joke of sorts, a play on the fact that Jesse in the past had never been able to get his work out there because labels and management issues).

This group of talented individuals all previously shared the stage at Jersey City's Iron Monkey and had such a successful night that they decided to do it again on February 5th, 2010 at Hoboken's premiere venue Maxwells. As well a surprise guest  (Mint 400's next signing) may be joining the bill also. In store are giveaways of Free Downloads and other swag.

Mint 400 is not only a collection of New Jersey's best but not in attendance will be Toronto's BOMBS who are playing a show of their own that night in their hometown and one of the newest signings The Mai 68's from England. The Mai 68's have a collection of 3 EP's being released by Mint 400 Records on January 18th. Spiral Scratch Pop.com had this to say about The Mai 68's, “If The Jesus and Mary Chain were the session musicians for Young Marble Giants, they'd sound like The Mai 68s: enigmatic, sweet, noisy, wonderful.”

So all in all a very successful year has been had by New Jersey's newest indie label and the label plans to continue carving a niche out for themselves by signing bands that represent a genuine, heartfelt love for songwriting and just good old rock and roll.
