Dec. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Crack Semiconductor (http://www.cracksemi.com) continues to "move the yard stick" for PKA Silicon IP by introducing the CS256-ECC, a light-weight ECC-only version of its advanced, programmable CS1024 PKA Processor. The already very high ECC performance versus gate area ratio is improved in the new light-weight version as it excludes the CS1024 Algorithm Processor. This new Silicon IP product for the ECC-only PK Accelerator market computes the essential modular math functions for ECC- Modular Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Point Add, Double, Multiply and Verify on integers up to 512-bits. The CS256-ECC uses the company's innovative SIMPLR(tm) and optimal multiplication technology, which provides an integer state aware data path to execute the ECC algorithms in a tight hardware loop for high performance. Designed for top-down reconfigurability, the CS256-ECC is highly customizable. Please visit our website for more information.

This news follows quickly on the heals of company's release of the CS1024-RSA compute offload processor with measured performance of 177+ RSA 1024-bit decryptions per second and 13,586 RSA 1024-bit encryptions (with exp = 2^16 + 1) using a single 32-bit multiplier core.

"Crack Semiconductor has developed exciting new PKA technology that moves the performance versus power (and / or area) close to theoretical limits", say CTO and Founder, Arthur J. Low. "We are clearly setting new performance standards, and the CS256-ECC is addressing a definite market need for high performing, efficient ECC-only offload processors. The ability to configure the CS256-ECC IP for 16-bit, 32-bit and 64-bit core multiplication provides customers to select the right configuration for their performance and chip area & power budgets."
