International Company Lists Dubai as the World’s Most Important Trading Hub

Dubai remains the world’s most important trading hub, according to a UK company which is heavily expanding its operations in the region.

Sweet Cred, the worldwide children’s novelty confectionery brand, has just announced the appointment of its first Middle East Chairman in response to a number of overwhelming business deals during the past few months.
Abbas Al Hajj, the former Head of Tourism for the Directorate of Tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Chief Officer of Hospitality at Dubai Holdings, will lead the regional development of Sweet Cred and its sister company Sports Candy, which has already taken orders in excess of US$ 10 million in the Middle East during Q4 of 2009.
“Sweet Cred recognises the drive and commitment of the UAE Government to ensure that the country continues to be the leading business destination in the world,” said Mr. Abbas Al Hajj, Middle East Chairman, Sweet Cred. “There are many opportunities for international companies to prosper who have unique products and offer a high service quality. Mr Al Hajj sits on many boards in an executive role and his track record is internationally recognised.  
Sweet Cred is the exclusive Middle East distributor of famous football brands including AC Milan, Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.
“I really don’t understand why people are knocking Dubai,” said Clive Garrad, founder of Sweet Cred. “Sweet Cred has confirmed its biggest ever deals in the region in the last three months and the response to our products has been so well received we are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Abbas Al Hajj to head up our new operations in the Middle East, which will be headquartered in Dubai.”

Sweet Cred recently confirmed more than US$ 9 million worth of business at the recent Sweets Middle East exhibition in Dubai with companies from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and is now expanding its distribution network throughout the GCC.
