Dec. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Liberian model, 23-year old  Miles Powell from Jersey City, New Jersey participated in the Celebrity Boxing Federation’s fight card in Philly along with world heavy-weight champion James “Buster” Douglas to raise money and awareness about breast cancer. Powell grew up in Jersey City and has Liberian heritage. Fighter James "Buster" Douglas (born April 7, 1960) is a former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion who caused one of the most shocking upsets in sports history when he knocked out undefeated champion Mike Tyson on February 11, 1990 in Tokyo, Japan.   (www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt8LZ8FjGN8)
Miles fought on the light heavy-weight card against Italian celebrity boxer Anthony Stallone. Powell has been modeling in the metro NYC area with top designers and industry heavy-weights like Wii Yoga Game supermodel, Anja Rubik (Next Model Management) Diesel Clothing Company,  Copper Da Don Designs and designer Stacey Angela and has several up-coming runways shows and potential national advertising campaigns in the works.
The Celebrity Boxing Federation (www.CelebrityBoxing.tv) was founded by Damon "the Jewish Don King" Feldman and is proudly sponsored in part by Nissan, Subaru and Title Boxing.  It regularly features the likes of baseball MVP Jose Canseco, “Buster” Douglas, Rodney King, Beetlejuice, Anthony Stallone, Michael (father of Hollywood starlet, Lindsey) Lohan and many other celebrities.  “This was really just a great opportunity to bring awareness about breast cancer since this terrible illness affects so many people both nationally and internationally” says Powell. He recently was part of the designer Stacey Angela's very successful epilepsy awareness fashion show in Newark, New Jersey.
“I still can’t believe I was on the same fight card with “Buster” Douglas who unfortunately lost his father to cancer; and “Buster” too is a big supporter of trying to get more people to be aware of the issues of cancer - especially breast cancer.”
Says Powell, “The great thing about now being a more recognized black male model in the fashion industry is that great opportunities like Celebrity Boxing come along now that let me participate in major celebrity events that also have a great social cause that I really believe in.”
Powell works out regularly and is known in the fashion industry for his great physique and mega-watt Hollywood smile. Catch more of Mile’s photos on Facebook.com: Miles Powell or watch some of the Celebrity Boxing Federation fight at:  www.Vimeo.com/8048880
