By: Becky Antonoglu, Sheila King Public Relations grandparents gather to mark this holiday season and to raise more support for WINGS (Women in Need Growing Stronger). With this sixth annual benefit, this year’s proceeds are expected to reach $340,000.00. This group of volunteers has raised close to $2 million to advance the work of this organization which helps families experiencing domestic violence. Honorary Co-chairs are Michael and Jacky Ferro. Benefit Co-chairs are Ann Grissom and Sandy Wang McGowan. Lead Sponsors include Reyes Holdings, John and Rita Canning and Bob and Emily King. WHEN: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2009 WHERE: Four Seasons Hotel Grand Ballroom 120 E. Delaware Place, Chicago, Ill. WHAT: WINGS, a not-for-profit organization, owns and operates a domestic violence shelter, three resale stores, and numerous transitional homes and apartments to provide a safety net to families in need. WINGS programs and services are designed to help women and children become emotionally and financially independent. It relies primarily on individual, corporate and foundation donations and revenues from its retail shops and fundraisers for support.
