Founded in Norway, Symfoni Software AS has divisions located in Denmark and Sweden as well.  The company serves over 700 large business and corporate clients representing over 400,000 individual end users.  They provide software solutions that allow companies to do everything from run Global Calendars to know the who, what, where and when of what is going on throughout a company; their website design software Symfoni CMS makes it easy for all of a company's users to create, edit and publish online documentation.  There are even tools to help deal with everyday minutia such as Symfoni Absence which helps organizations track, monitor, and correct potentially costly absenteeism.

Svein-Erik Henriksen has been the IT Manager in charge of Operational Services for Business customers since 2004.  Spam is one of the issues that falls under his purview and it was becoming more of a problem as Symfoni geared up to upgrade its servers.  Svein-Erik explains, "Over the years, we had used various anti-Spam products with Spam Assassin being the most recent.  However, it was becoming too demanding to update, and associated costs were climbing."

With increasing amounts of valuable support time spent keeping their solution up-to-date, and with constant setting changes to suit individual clients' needs, Svein-Erik and his team knew they had to make a change.

Solutions that work better – together – from Anywhere and Everywhere

As the Symfoni IT team searched for a Spam solution that would be cost-effective yet keep their clientele happy, a friend working at a University in the United States told Svein-Erik he should check out Roaring Penguin Software's line of CanIt anti-Spam solutions.  Svein-Erik continues, "I downloaded the free (CanIt-Domain-PRO) demo from the Roaring Penguin website and tested it internally and on select email domains.  After two weeks, I was convinced."
