Collegefootballplayoff.org Wants Fans to Give the BCS the Middle Finger

Dec. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- After years of wasted seasons and staged “championship” games, college football fans are increasingly growing furious with the BCS.  This year is no exception, as three more undefeated teams -- Boise State, TCU, and Cincinnati -- have been shut out of the so-called National Championship Game.

The site is a new social networking platform devoted to giving all college football fans a place to meet and discuss—principally through forums and focused blogs—the best ways to the fight against the BCS system.  Site members also can upload unlimited photos and videos, customize their own member pages, and maintain their own independent blogs, in addition to participating in various contests for prizes.  Following its recent launch by a group of lifelong college football fans, including a pair of attorneys and a film producer, the site conducted an exclusive interview with Representative Joe Barton and filmed multiple humorous videos featuring Ron Jeremy showing his support for a playoff.  Some of those videos can be seen on CFP’s Premium Content page, freely accessible to site members, while others will be released on the site in the coming weeks.

To encourage fans to show their support for ending the BCS, and to promote other beneficial causes along the way, CFP will be donating 20% of all profits from sales of merchandise from now until the BCS Championship Game to “Cancer for College,” an organization that has helped hundreds of cancer patients reach their dreams through college scholarships.  

“Unlike the BCS, whose creators only care about money, we at CFP believe in doing what’s fair and right,” says attorney Anthony Cartee, co-founder and President of CFP. “We have invested our time, energy and money in this effort, while simultaneously promoting other great causes like ‘Cancer for College’.  We know we won’t change this flawed system in one year, but if we can embarrass and shame the BCS on national television with foam middle fingers waving in the air, that’s a damn good start.”  

To further encourage fans’ support, from now until Christmas, CFP is also offering fans $5 off purchases of $30 or more.  Also, CFP is sponsoring a FREE Bowl Game Pick’em contest, with the winner receiving a gift certificates from Football Fanatics and runners up receiving other prizes.
