Drink Driving Across the Country

Lowering the Levels of Drink Driving and looking at where we should be concentrating
By: Michael Temali-Smith

Dec. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Research conducted by AutoStats has revealed that 13% of drivers have driven over the UK drink drive limit. With the Government looking to reduce the drink driving limit to 50mg per 100ml of blood, AutoStats can suggest several areas of the country in which they should be concentrating.

The South West and the North East of England show the highest levels of Motorists admitting to having driven over the limit. 20% of people living in the South West have got behind the wheel having had one or two too many.

Michael Temali-Smith, of AutoStats, said “drink driving is always prevalent at this time of year but we were surprised at the levels seen in our research. There is a relationship between safety and blood alcohol levels and we at AutoStats support lowering the levels.” Only 3% of those surveyed thought that the current level for blood alcohol was too tough.
