Essen Motor Show stays "classic in color"

Dec. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- One couldn’t speak of trends watching the given color palette on this years Essen Autoshow in Essen, Germany. It is more a“same procedure as every year”color range” that represents the latest highlights in automotive tuning. It seems that color does not play the most important role in the aftermarket segment, although it offers an obvious way to be different or support a shape, style or whatever you want to support. The “classic” colors stay and there is no visible shift towards certain trend colors.

Black, especially in matt, plus red, blue and yellow are still the most favoured shades, highlighted by a lot of white and sporty oranges.
Also the classic & prestigious car range shows that the most colors of this choice were even popular in the 1960’s and 70’s as well. The taste seems to be more traditional and conservative when it comes to choose a color.

There was no trend in violet or brown shades or that so-called “eco-colors” that we saw on the Frankfurt Autoshow this year. Maybe next year this will be more visible in the aftermarket range as well.

The only real tendency was matt clearcoat. It appeared more than last year and different manufacturers showed their palette or ideas in matt this time. Especially white and black shades appear either sophisticated or sporty in matt, these were also in combination with red or white accents.

In general it was obvious that the show was smaller and not that busy this year. The economical situation mirrors the size and the color range of this year´s Essen Autoshow.
