Dec. 3, 2009 - PRLog -- D-Day is an annual day of intercession for Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and the world at large, held for the past twelve years on the first day of the year, New Year's day, in Trinidad, with the exception of the last D-day which was in the form of a prayer summit, extending over five (5) days. This year again, and for all future occasions, by Divine direction, D-Day would be in the form of a Prayer Summit. A mandate from God, it is described as a time of decision and destiny (hence D-Day), the ultimate objective being to engender national healing and spiritual transformation. 
 
The concept of D-Day stems from a prophetic word delivered by Apostles Vernon Duncan, Vivian Duncan and Prophet Laymouth Sandy on Sunday 22nd September, 1990 at Divine Encounter.

In 2010, D-Day will be held over a three-day (3) period, at three different venues:

Friday 1st January – D-Day World Prayer Summit, at Woodford Square, Port of Spain, from 3.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Saturday 2nd January – D-Day Youth Prayer Rally at Divine Encounter Fellowship Grounds, Ragoo Road, D’Abadie, from 3.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Sunday 3rd January - D-Day South Trinidad, First Church of the Open Bible, San Fernando, 5.00 p.m.

At this forum, thousands of Pastors and Intercessors locally and internationally come together to apply the 1Chronicles 7:14 principle: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

The very first D-Day (1997) was held at the Hasely Crawfod Stadium, Port of Spain, 3:00 p.m. There were about six thousand(6000) people in attendance. By January 18th of the same year, D-Day South was held at Skinner Park San Fernando. In 2009, there was a paradigm shift to D-Day World Prayer Summit, held at various venues: (i) Jean Pierre’s Complex, (ii) Crowne Plaza, P.O.S., (iii) Open Bible San Fernando and (iv) Skinner’s Park San Fernando. 

The theme for D-Day 2010 is “Press Into the Glory Until…”.   Our guest speaker will be world leader and prayer general Dr. Fred Omoruyi of Nigeria. The guest music ministers include Jumelle, the 2002 “Caribbean Gospel Marlin Music Award” winners from St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles; the cast of local ministers including Sean Danielle, Mellisa “Precious” Brouwn and Zion YIA choir.
