Camden, N.J.—December 1, 2009—The Burlington-Camden Alumni Chapter Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is nearing the kick-off of their second beautillion season. Eight young men (beaux) were chosen to participate in the beautillion—a four month program designed to educate high-school males on critical topics including college preparation, etiquette, health awareness, and fiscal responsibility. These young men will be presented with scholarships at a black-tie event that will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Merion in Cinnaminson, New Jersey.

The following young men have been chosen to participate in the second beautillion: Samuel Douglas of Voorhees, New Jersey; Cory Drummond Jr. of Camden, New Jersey; Dante’ Javon Hickson of Palmyra, New Jersey; Chad W. King of Sicklerville, New Jersey; Antione McGee of Lindenwold, New Jersey; Damon Miller of Sewell, New Jersey; Timothy Singleton of Somerdale, New Jersey; and Marcus Tutt of Lawnside, New Jersey.

A welcome reception was held for the beaux and their parents on Monday, November 30, 2009. This reception provided participants with the opportunity to meet one another while learning more about the beautillion.

Lloyd Freeman, chairman of the beautillion, stated, “I am pleased to have the opportunity to help prepare a second group of young African American men for success. I look forward to making the second beautillion season even better than the first.”
