Corks Out Independent Wine Specialist - Six Years On

Dec. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Corks Out Founder, Ruth Yates who has been in the wine trade for the past 20 years always had a dream to open her own specialist wine merchant, a dream that came true on 11th December 2003 when she gave up buying wine for large national companies and decided to open Corks Out in Stockton Heath. Over the past six years Ruth has put all of her efforts into buying a range of wines to attract both the regular wine enthusiast and those new to wine appreciation.  Her aim was also to demystify wine and help people to understand a little more about what’s in their glass through regular wine tastings, gourmet dinners, tutored tastings, wine courses and food and wine matching sessions.  

Two years later a second Corks Out opened, located in the middle of Chester, in a beautiful vaulted medieval cellar, an architectural attraction for visitors as well as those seeking to buy good wine. Timperley village, Altrincham was home to Ruth’s third store in 2008, quickly followed by Heswall on the Wirral in June 09 and Alderley Edge in August 09.

The number of stores that Ruth has managed to open in the past six years can only be beaten by the number of awards that she has received, totting up to a total of fifteen in all both regionally and nationally.
