U.S. Patent issued for new style of Veteran’s Burial Flag Display Case

The patented design features a storage area for the spent rounds from the rifle volley salute, or what is commonly known as the 21-gun salute.

United States Military Veterans receive a burial flag at their funeral service.  This flag is often draped over the casket during the funeral service and then presented to a spouse or other family member at the end of the service after being properly folded by a military honor guard.  During the funeral service the veteran may be honored with a traditional rifle volley, from a military honor guard, and the family may request the spent shell cases from the rifle volley as an additional keepsake to display with the United States flag.

The Rifle Salute Flag Display Case design finally solves the problem of how and where to store both the burial flag and spent shell cases.  Now both the burial flag and spent rounds, from the 21-gun salute, can be proudly displayed together, as they should be, for all to see.  The new design incorporates a built-in storage compartment, in the base of the flag display case, for each of the spent shell cases while the flag can be prominently displayed in its traditional folded shape.

The Rifle Salute Flag Display Case is available in two different styles and four different colors.  Each flag display case is proudly handcrafted in the USA by Engraved Expressions located in Spartanburg, SC.  The cases are crafted from solid American hardwoods and feature a durable furniture grade finish.  The cases have an easily removable back for inserting the flag into the storage chamber.  The spent shell cases can simply be inserted into individual holes in the flag case base.  The case can then be displayed on a shelf or desktop.
 
Engraved Expressions can personalize each display case with a laser engraved memorial plaque.  The plaques are available in three colors and a photograph of the departed veteran can be engraved onto the plaque.   Laser engraving on the front glass panel of the case is also available.  Glass engraving can include up to five lines of text and the military branch emblem or seal.
