Motorola Milestone “iphone Killer” And Online Search Winner

Dec. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- The announcement of the phone and its impending “iPhone Killer” status led to a record number of searches on the UK’s leading mobile phone price comparison website, www.rightmobilephone.co.uk.

The site saw an increase in searches of nearly 150% in November 09, with a surge of price comparison requests for Motorola's new Milestone handset.

The new smart phone, which is sold in the USA as the Motorola Droid, is said to be a handset that could rival the iPhone. The phone, which is due to launch in the UK on December 7th, will not be available on the high street until next year, this is because online retailer Expansys has exclusive rights to the handset until the end of the year.

Consumers however, will be able to buy the handset for £449.99 from the online site and put in any SIM card that they wish.

Speaking of the Motorola Milestone, and the increased level of searches, Neil McHugh, co-founder of Rightmobilephone.co.uk, commented;

“We’ve heard a lot about this phone within the industry, but obviously the exclusivity agreement with Expansys means that we don’t have any deals on our site for the phone at present. However, we will have some of the best deals to compare on our site for consumers in the New Year. It will be interesting to see whether the Motorola Milestone gives the iPhone a run for its money.”
