Dec. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- As one of the leading ecommerce software companies in the world, Fortune3.com is announcing a partnership with ecommerce giant Amazon for an integration within the Fortune3 software.

Successful online retailers are always looking for new ways to increase sales and revenues. It is now commonly known that offering customers more options and choices for checking out and making a payment can encourage some buyers that might otherwise be discouraged or weary of buying directly from the e-commerce site. Additional checkout options with highly-known payment providers like Amazon, PayPal, and Google Checkout are now commonplace among the biggest and even smallest e-commerce stores on the web. These checkout systems can give confidence to some buyers and give them the assurance they need to complete their purchase. With this in mind, industry leading Fortune3, Inc.; makers of the Fortune3 Shopping Cart Software and service, have recently partnered with Amazon and made available to its users a direct integration with Amazon Payments though Checkout by Amazon.

The Checkout by Amazon system is the last of the major additional payment providers that Fortune3 has completed full integration with, previously having been compatible with all PayPal payment systems (Standard, Pro, Express Checkout, and Payflow) and Google Checkout, the new integration with Amazon Payments completes the cycle. Amazon’s Checkout provides a fresh and new interactive way of making a payment to the retailer. With features like the 1-Click Checkout and Payphrase, checking out with Amazon can be as simple as typing a word or clicking the mouse for Amazon account holders. Add Amazon’s “A-to-Z Guarantee” logo that is displayed during the Amazon Checkout process and the store will seal the deal with many potential customers that might have otherwise not purchased.

For US merchants, offering Checkout by Amazon cannot be interpreted as anything but common sense and good business. There is no setup fee or monthly fee for using the service, retailers simply pay a transaction fee (1.9% - 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for orders >= $10 and 5% + $0.05 for orders < $10), so there is nothing to lose, and a lot to gain. As with other major additional payment systems, Checkout by Amazon also provides a familiar and comforting look and feel for any customer that has previously purchased from Amazon.com, which is quickly becoming the biggest e-commerce website in the world.

The integration between Fortune3 and Checkout by Amazon is as complete as any integration could possibly be. Users of the shopping cart software are not only able to send orders to Amazon for processing, but the system is also able to receive information about the order back from Amazon’s API to make the order process and management seamless and fully compatible on both systems. Orders placed through Checkout by Amazon can be immediately seen and managed by the store administrators in the Fortune3 Administration Site. Merchants changing the status of their Amazon orders to Shipped, Partially Shipped, Voided, or Refunded from Fortune3’s friendly Administration Site will find that the status of the orders will also be changed in their Amazon account, and payments will be automatically refunded when applicable. Tracking information is also sent to Amazon when orders are shipped, so the customers will be fully aware of their order status, whether they check it in their Amazon account, or on the online store’s Order Status section. This full back and forth integration between Fortune3 and Amazon also guarantees that the end customer is always notified of any changes made to the order by an e-mail coming from Amazon.

This new partnership and integration is the latest addition to the hundreds of tools that are available to Fortune3’s Shopping Cart Software users. Combining the strength of Amazon.com with Fortune3’s top-of-the-line software and service can be a very powerful tool for any online merchant who is serious about growing their business.
