Former IT Professional partners with Former Inmate in Texas to Start a Prison Shuttle Business in MD

Nov. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Halima Harrison was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and attended Indiana University of PA majoring in Management Information Systems.  Halima worked in IT for seven years, in which she spent the last 3 years in Washington DC, after graduating with her bachelors of science.  Her last IT position she worked for the Office of Secretary of Defense CIO department.  Halima assisted the Barack Obama Presidential Transition Team after the election, and received a certificate of participation.  In 2008, Halima had helped to begin a Women Only Bible Study, which led to the enrollment in the Spirit of Faith Bible Institute, in Temple Hills, MD to pursue her calling into ministry.  During the first year of school Halima had a desire to serve the community.  Halima spoke with her husband, Andre Harrison, and he provided her with the idea to bring the family and friends of inmates to the correctional facilities.  Halima conducted research and found a man on the internet by the name of Michael Wren who was doing the same thing in Dallas, TX.  Halima called Mr. Wren and instantly their friendship and mentorship began.  He had a desire in his heart to assist this young entrepreneur and help her begin a service that he has mastered.  Mr. Michael Wren was an ex-inmate and was incarcerated for 5 years but during his time in prison he completed his GED and credits his rehabilitation to God and visits from his mother.  

Halima used the lessons that she learned from faith and saw Mr. Michael Wren for what he was today, a successful business man, versus what he was in the past, an ex-inmate.  Mr. Wren and Halima Harrison had a common faith in God which led to a successful mentorship.  Currently, Halima Harrison has routes to correctional facilities in Maryland and upcoming routes in Virginia and beyond.  Halima Harrison has a true genuine love and compassion for people.  Halima’s passion is for the family and friends to have the ability to show love to the ones who are incarcerated.  Halima Harrison believes that God loves everyone and everyone deserves to be loved.
