Nov. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Manchester, - The Image Group, one of the UK's leading large format printers and specialists in banners and exhibition stands, have announced the successful completion of an extremely unusual project.
Question - When is a Printer not a Printer or a Sign Maker not a Sign Maker?

Answer - When a customers' requirements fall somewhere that doesn't fit directly into either category.

That's what happened when Werneth High School in Manchester contacted The Image Group recently with a rather unusual request.

The team at Werneth was recently awarded the prestigious 'specialist school status' and was duly reborn as a college of performing arts under the watchful eye of Head Teacher Pam Campbell. This important accolade reinforces the excellent work being done by the teaching staff and managers alike to improve standards across this huge high school in Stockport, a process which has been ongoing over the last 3 years. The relationship started with Werneth when they originally asked The Image Group to deliver a complete re-branding with a new corporate identity translated into brochures, display equipment and other exhibition materials.

With lots of new Roller Banner systems, PVC Banners, Exhibition Panels and Window Graphics duly produced and installed, The Image Group were presented with their toughest challenge to date.

Alyson Littlewood, Deputy Head Teacher takes up the story.

"Our building is over 100 years old and for the most part were really proud of it's architecture. However, our main reception block was built in the 50's out of steel and glass. It looked ancient, was in a state of disrepair and really brought the rest of the schools' appearance down. We asked the team at The Image Group to come up with a solution for revitalising this part of the campus and challenged them to bring it up to the kind of standard that's consistent with our vision for the school."

Image Group Sales Director Rick Jervis adds

"Our solution to Werneth's problem was really simple. Grind all the steelwork back and completely repaint the framework in external gloss black smooth rite paint. After which we completely re-clad the entire building in black gloss Dibond. Composite Aluminium or Dibond as it's known, is a material we often use in the print process for outdoor signs and outdoor displays because it has fantastic outdoor qualities. It's rigid, durable, does not warp in heat or bend with moisture. It's the perfect choice for signs or display panels that need to last outdoors. The idea of covering Werneth's front office building is really just an extension of what we do every day in the field of print and signage. We cover survey, proposals, design, manufaxture and installation. We even look after all aspects of access and health and safety. Once the cladding was completed we applied self adhesive vinyl graphics to areas of the building to proclaim the Werneth story to 1000's of passers-by. The result is a display sensation. The tired, old reception building now looks brand new."

Dibond is one of many material options on offer at The Image Group. The Image Group website even has a "Choosing the right material" section. This area of the site is designed to explain complex material qualities in everyday language that's easy to understand.
